Vtg 1940s Crown Trifari Alfred Philippe Honeycomb Silver Tone Rare Necklace
Rare Crown Trifari silver tone honeycomb lariat necklace, advertised in 1946, a design using a flat plated chain made of interlocking honeycomb links. The chain overlaps and crosses (attached with a screw from the back so ends swivel) in front, the ends are uneven lengths in a negligee style. Signed'Trifari' (with crown)'Pat Pend' on the clasp. Gorgeous design and all silver tone. Sleek like a snake chain. Photos don't do this piece justice. Size: 14 3/4' with 4 drop.
Most silver-toned pieces produced by the American jewelry maker are made from a proprietary tarnish-resistant metal alloy called Trifarium rather than sterling silver.
