Golden seashell brooch, in the style of the 1954 original Trifari brooch by. Alfred Philippe, created at a later date, likely during the Trifari restyle of this classic around 1965. This design, like the original, showcases a large clam shell in shiny goldtone, nestled in between coral branches. A short coral branch overlaps the left side of the shell; a longer one is behind the shell, its tip sticking out at the top of the shell.
The gracefully curved coral branches are encrusted with clear rhinestones. Here and there along the branches peek faux pearls of graduated sizes. All these details mimic the original as well. Our brooch is about 3 1/2" tall and 2 1/2" (larger than the original). Its base is textured goldtone (original was rhodium plated). It is an unsigned beauty. High quality materials and construction makes this as nice as the original but at a fraction of the cost. Comes from smoke and pet free home.
