Vintage CROWN TRIFARI Alfred Philippe Moonglow Star Acorn Fruit Salad Pin Brooch

Trifari's original fruit bowl design, from which these pieces derive their fruit salad name, was patented in 1941 with patent number 125,420. In that photo you can see fruit salad / acorn shaped stones representing pears. In this version, Alfred Philippe incorporated the beauty of aurora borealis by including tiny, soft pink AB rhinestones alongside opalescent glowing glass fruit salad ornamental pieces. The overall effect is soft and lovely. Translucent and iridescent this brooch is completed in gold toned Trifarium, a non-tarnishing metal alloy patented by the Trifari company in 1947 following World War II.
