Here is an exquisite vintage Trifari/Alfred Philippe pin. This Pearl Belly Frog from the 1940's is part of the Mini Animal series designed by Alfred Phillipe. Trifari's 1940s-era Jelly Belly brooches depicted miniature animals (the animal's "belly" was a solid Lucite "pearl" in a sterling silver or gold plate setting). This brooch is simply delightful. The little frog features a large faux "pearl belly" middle, and the piece is enhanced with clear rhinestones and green cabochon (mini jelly belly) eyes.
An impressive collector piece (or special gift for the Trifari collector). Measurements: 1¼ x 1¼ inches. Condition: This piece is in very good vintage condition, however since it's a vintage piece, please look at the photos carefully.
All stones are present, and there is some darkening and cloudiness to a few of the clear stones. There is a tiny flaw on the "pearl", and the metal has some wear (as does the underside). The clasp is in good working order, and both the Trifari and Pat Pending marks are clearly visible. This is not a mint piece, but it's an excellent example, and I've priced it accordingly.
