PHILIPPE 1937-38 "Diamante" Necklace EXTREMELY RARE. This is an extremely rare and delicate necklace!! It is simply stunning and beautiful. This patent filed by Alfred Philippe was filed on October 6, 1937 and granted on November 23, 1937. Since there is a patent number stamped on the piece, it was probably created in 1937-38.
The patent states that it was submitted as a brooch but the design would be used for other pieces. This piece is very light as compared to later pieces probably because the "Trifarium" process had not yet been created. Because it is such a light and intricate design, it is delicate and fragile. This is an absolutely fantastic necklace. W hat makes this absolutely stunning necklace so rare is that many KTF necklaces made in 1930's are missing "diamante" stones or the stones have yellowed because of age.
This is not the case in this piece. No stones are missing or discolored. This fantastic necklace is approximately 17" long and the pendant is approximately 1.75" in diameter. The sparkle that still radiates from this antique necklace is amazing!! Imagine what it must have been like to receive such a spectacular necklace during the Great Depression! This is a "must have" for any vintage or antique jewelry or Trifari collector!! The patent will be included. This item is in the category "Jewelry & Watches\Vintage & Antique Jewelry\Necklaces & Pendants". The seller is "the_endless_oyster" and is located in this country: US.
