Designed by Alfred Philippe in 1953 for the'Lucerne' collection, this Crown Trifari demi-parure is featured in the 1953 Christmas ad, "She will know it's Christmas when you give her Jewels by TRIFARI". The 1/2 wide choker/necklace is made of S shaped Trifarium plate links, interspersed with faux pearls, and highlighted with twinkly clear chatons. It can be lengthened from 15", to as long as 17 1/4", with the attached extension chain. The hook clasp is stamped with the crown TRIFARI PAT. Patent #170,382 was granted in 1953.
The 1" x 1/2" earrings are bright sweeps of Trifarium, each set with 3 faux pearls, and 3 clear chatons. The clips are stamped with the crown TRIFARI logo, and they are patented #170,220.
This midcentury set is in excellent vintage condition. The plating is bright, the pearls glossy, the rhinestones clear, any dead or missing stones have been replaced with Swarovski crystals.
