Super rare Trifari duette clip mates brooch features light blue shoe button glass stones along with clear pave' set rhinestones. Nowhere to be found on the internet at this time, only one piece is pictured in this exact design which is a fur clip. That is where I found it is called "Garden Party". Patent dates it to 1936.
Clips when separated measure 11/2" x 11/8". Marked all over as follows. I believe the number 29 notes this exact the design as there were several similar duettes with the same patent number showing in the design patent photos. However, none were of this design. I believe the number 15 is the stone setters' mark, like how stone setters stamped Eisenberg pieces during that time period. Very good condition vintage with all stones present. Especially amazing is that all of the shoe button glass stones are excellent! All of their tiny, center, blue, flat back, accent stones are also present. Some of the clear pave' stones have darkened a bit. 2 pave' stones on the outer edge of the piece are black now, 1 other is very dark but not completely black. Silver rhodium plating on the clip back itself is intact. The clip mechanisms themselves seem to not have been rhodium plated. They show some light wear to the finish and light scratches. Not all that noticeable unless looking closely. When viewing this duette normally it looks fabulous and these issues are minimal. This issues do not detract from the piece (in my opinion). This is typically seen in these Art Deco pieces. Please view all photos for details and please keep in mind some pics are enlarged to show this. But we want you to love your item!
