Some fine surface scratches and light crazing of the gold finish, typical of Trifari's proprietary "Trifanium" gold finish. The stones on the earrngs and the front of necklace are in mostly excellent condition. There is some graying of the accent stones on the necklace extender chain. NOTE: One crystal setting broke off the main centerpiece.
We repaired it by soldering it back onto the necklace. Underside of unique diamond-shaped dangle is signed TRIFARI PAT. Earrings are signed TRIAFARI on back of each clip.
The necklace (trifari 167,421) and earrings patent no. 167,364 are both Alfred Philippe designs later patented August 1949. This is part of Trifari's "TWINKLE" series of jewelry, heavily advertised around Christmas 1952 ad campaign. A clipping of one of those advertisements is included in the listing photos. Also featured in COLLECTING COSTUME JEWELRY 202 by Julia C. Carroll, at pages 198 and 197. An incredible, classic Trifari Alfred Philippe-Era design. We carefully package each item, mostly secured in jewelry gift boxes, to help ensure the item arrives safely.
